Mission

Patient-centered research in neurorehabilitation with the integration of research to clinical practice at an international level. The research approach will be multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and intersectorial.

Visions (2021-2023)

• A research collaboration with at least one research institution in Scandinavia, one institution in Europe and one institution on another continent. The collaborations will consist of joint projects, PhD student exchange, applications for joint funding and an opportunity for the reciprocal exchange of visiting scientists.
  
  
• Integrated research projects as part of clinical practice related to the rehabilitation areas of our four clinics.
  
  
• Research conducted in the following areas: nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medicine, speech therapy, neuropsychology and biomechanics.
  
  
• Completed at least five studies with the primary focus on community neurorehabilitation.
  
  
• Established fundraising practices that will finance (among other things) PhD courses, post-doctoral and PhD students, visiting scientists, and multicenter studies. These will involve the continuous use of the research support unit.
  
  
• An average of 30 peer-reviewed articles annually.
  
  
• Recruitment of talented research personnel both internally and externally.
  
  
• Established a professorship in neuro-physiotherapy and visiting professorships in occupational therapy and neuro-nursing.
  
  
• Offered employment in RHN to anyone with a completed PhD with a principal supervisor employed at RHN.
  
  
• An additional three lecturing positions.
  
  
• At least one employee in each clinic with a PhD.
  
  
• Established a structure for potential patient involvement in all research projects.
  
  
• Organized an international symposium every two years.
