Research plan for the reLINK Research Group
Our research group is dedicated to leveraging the wealth of clinical data available in Region Midtjylland's internal databases to drive impactful research and support clinical endeavors.
Our group is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds, including expertise in statistics, clinical practice, and research methodologies. We share a common aspiration – to utilize clinical data to enhance patient care and outcomes.
At the heart of our mission is the utilization of routinely documented health data, including electronic healthcare records, to fuel our research initiatives. With access to data from approximately 8000 patient cases and ongoing updates from new admissions and additional sources within Region Midtjylland, we strive to uncover insights that not only advance scientific knowledge but also directly inform and improve clinical practices.
Our work extends beyond traditional research paradigms. We are committed to being pioneers in the integration of business intelligence applications within clinical settings. Through agile collaboration and a focus on practical application, we aim to set a standard for how BI can enhance both research endeavors and day-to-day patient care.
Key to our approach is the establishment of meaningful data structures that accurately reflect the intricacies of rehabilitation trajectories and admission procedures specific to our local context at Hammel Neurorehabilitation Centre and University Research Clinic, as well as the Spinal Cord Injury Centre of Western Denmark.
As part of the wider research community at the University Clinic, we actively collaborate with other research groups, providing data support and innovative BI solutions to facilitate their projects.
Currently, our research areas revolve around prognosis research and the integration of data from various sources, including long-term follow-up assessments using patient-reported outcome measures.
