reGAIN
Research group for activity and participation in neurorehabilitation. We conduct high-quality research to strengthen the abilities of individuals'.
The mission of REGAIN is to undertake high-quality research within activity and participation in neurorehabilitation in order to facilitate that individuals with acquired brain injury and related neurological illnesses are provided with the best support, in order to have a meaningful life with high quality of life.
Framework
Activity and participation is defined by the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework.
Research strategy
The overall strategic aims are those provided by the Central Region of Denmark for research in the health care sector, along with recommendations by the recently published white book for rehabilitation.
More specific strategic aims are:
- To carry out research focusing on both rehabilitation during hospitalization and following discharge.
- To take initiative for new research projects, but also to support relevant research ideas which originates from the clinic
- The research group should embrace different research methodology such as clinical trials, qualitative studies, register based research, literature rieviews, validation studies, and implementation research
- Focus on patient involvement in different parts of research, since activity and participation is about every lives for these individuals
- Enrollment of 2-3 new PhD fellows with the next five years, who have either their main- or co supervisor in the research group
- At least one master student yearly, who is writing master thesis within activity and participation and is a guest member of the research group
- Focus on external funding for post doc level researchers
- A yearly research group status meeting were milestones are discussed and an annual schedule is made
- Regular meetings with Nordic collaborators
